Project hero image — mod wordmark, cream on dark forest green
mod
Urbany Hostels wanted specialty coffee in reception — to-go only, served by trained receptionists, with barely a brief beyond "make it feel sustainable." I worked through dozens of naming directions before landing on mod: a nod to the gaming idea of a small addition that upgrades the whole experience. I paired it with Martian Mono, a monospace coding typeface, and built the identity around blues, then rebuilt the palette in forest green, green, mint and cream after client feedback asked for a more sustainable read — without losing the retro-coding personality that makes the brand distinct.
Logo variations — blob/pill lockups showing system flexibility
The idea behind the name:
Something small you add that makes it better.
Color palette — Forest Green, Green, Mint, Cream
Typography — the Martian Mono system
The iteration story — v1 blue identity next to v2 green identity
